CrossFit Dog Fight Family,

We want to thank you for completing our survey asked of you a few months ago. Since our open forum, I was excited to jump on the great feedback right away. Here are a few things requested and have been put into action; a nutrition class, I put together a 16-week detailed nutrition class – “Nutrition for the pursuit of excellence,” which takes place every Saturday at 9:00 AM for one hour. All members and non-members are welcome to attend for a small weekly fee. Also, many of you suggested you would be willing to donate to an equipment campaign. This has been posted on crowd rise and we have purchased many of the equipment items on the wish list within a short period of time – THANK YOU for your generosity!

Now, after reading and compiling data it’s now time to share with you the feedback collected from the survey.

Question #1 – How would you rate your overall learning experience with CrossFit Dog Fight?

Overall – we received an excellent score of 97% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Some classes get too big.” I want to insure you it is my job as the owner and head coach I will not jeopardize the safety of our members by exceeding the class size. As we continue to grow my rule has been 1 coach per 15 members. If the number in the class exceeds 15, I will bring in a 2nd coach. It is important to make sure each athlete receives the coaching they are paying for.

Question #2 – How would you rate the Box and equipment?

Overall – we received an excellent score of 97% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Could have more space, open gym gets crowded.” The greatest part of being a business owner is seeing our box full of great athletes. Understandably so, there are occasions when open gym does get crowded, which is typically at the beginning of open gym. Please don’t forget we are open on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and you are more than welcome to come at any point in time, use the inside of the box or take weights, rowers or a bike outside to enjoy the weather. The more we grow, I understand the need for a larger space. This will take more time but am excited for the possibility and vision of a larger space. Don’t forget to tell your friends, coworkers, neighbors and family about us!

Question #3 – How would you rate the safety of our box?

Overall – we received a great score of 90% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Kids can cause unsafe situations by running around.” I absolutely agree with this and not only will reiterate this now but pay closer attention to kids out of the kids’ room. It is a safety concern to have children out of the kids’ room during WOD time, I ask each parent to make sure they put their child in the kids’ room for their safety and make certain they remain in the room for the entire hour.

Question #4 – How would you rate the cleanliness of our box?

Overall – we received a great score of 90% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Clean up your own sweat after your WOD.” The box is cleaned nightly; meaning restrooms, benches, counters and floors are mopped with bleach and a floor cleaner. As I have traveled to other boxes I have been exposed to some of their cleaning systems. Lindsay and I have been looking into better ways to improve the overall cleanliness of our box. I agree, if you sweat a lot you should be responsible for cleaning up your area, this is no different if you tear on a bar you are responsible for cleaning the bar free of DNA. I will have a mop set out for daily for members to start cleaning their area post WOD.

Question #5 – How responsive have we been to your questions or concerns about our services?

Overall – we received an excellent score of 97% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – A few members wrote similar concerns to question #3, “kids can cause unsafe situations.” Again, I hear you and will do a better job enforcing this rule.

Question #6 – How would you rate our overall coaching ability to motivate you?

Overall – we received an impeccable score of 100% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Coaches are awesome, motivational, smart and keep me coming back.” I speak for all of the coaches when I say, THANK YOU! We do work hard to make sure each of you understands the mechanics behind the movement before we add consistency then intensity. As each of us continues our CrossFit education, to become the best team of coaches, we continue to ask you for your feedback in class, post class, pull us to the side, or you can send me an email if you ever have a questions regarding any of the movements. We are here to make you better and feedback is an important part of us making you better.

Question #7 – How would you rate our proficiency in teaching skills and movement?

Overall – we received an impeccable score of 100% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Spot on.” Being able to teach the mechanics are utmost important at CFDF. Striving to make certain our coaches are trained well, not only getting their level one, but understanding what I want and know to be important so each of our members understands how to move better with a subconscious awareness.

Question #8 – How would you rate our feedback on form and technique during the WODs?

Overall – we received an impeccable score of 100% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – “Sometimes a coach might have trouble remembering a cue.” Not only do I give feedback to the coaching staff regularly, but each month in our employee meetings the coaches are tasked with a set of foundational movements and get to give group cues so I may help better their teaching techniques.

Question #9 – Overall, please rate your overall experience with CrossFit Dog Fight?

Overall – we received an impeccable score of 100% with members either completely satisfied or satisfied.

Member Feedback – We are regularly trying to improve your experience by making you a better athlete and a more powerful human being through more constantly varied WODs.

Question #10 – What do you like most about CrossFit Dog Fight?

Open Ended Question (no scoring)

Member Feedback – “community,” “coaches,” “feeling like a family,” “outgoing and supportive members,” “results I’ve made over the past year,” “love the encouragement from the coaches,” “intensity of the workouts,” “motivating environment,” “dedication to technique,” “variety of WODs” and there were plenty of comedy relief comments provided by many of you, thank you! I got a good laugh out of some of the comments.

Question #11 – What do you like least about CrossFit Dog Fight?

Open Ended Question (no scoring)

Member Feedback – “could play a wider range of music.” Please, before any of the WODs feel free to let any of the coaches or myself know if you would like to hear a certain type of music. Lately, I have made more a conscious effort to ask before the WODs start. We have no problem playing music you’ll enjoy working out to. Also, a few members wrote “space” meaning they would like to have a bigger box, so would I. The bigger we grow these dreams will come true. Remember to tell everyone you know about CFDF!

Question #12 – What can we do to make your experience a more positive one?

Open Ended Question (no scoring)

Member Feedback – “GHD machine,” This is on our equipment campaign wish list and are building funds to be able to get one in the box. “Start classes on time,” this has been addressed and hopefully you have seen it corrected in all classes. Class ending times do vary when we have Hero WODs, which may spill over into the next class time since there is no time cap for these WODs. “Some of the warm-ups are too long,” remember there is a method behind my programming. It is important to completely warm-up the parts of the body we will be using for the WOD to prevent injury and to make certain your body is able to perform the WOD with optimal mechanics, consistency and intensity.

Again, thank you for your candor and for being one of the most amazing communities. Lindsay, myself, and the coaching staff are so fortunate to work with each and every one of you daily. What makes my day so exciting is not only am I doing what I love to do, I am so grateful I get to enjoy each of you. Please keep the feedback coming, it helps us get better and reiterates what we’re doing right. We will continue to work to improve your experience at CFDF.

Love and CrossFit,

Coach Matt and Lindsay
